Katrina Kaif (born 16 July 1984[2]) is a British Indian actress and former model who appears in Indian films, mainly in the Hindi-language film industry.[3][4] She has also appeared in Telugu and Malayalam films. She was voted the sexiest Asian woman in the world by Eastern Eye in the years 2008, 2009 and 2010.[5][6] Being a British citizen, she works in India on an employment visa.[1]
Kaif made her acting debut with Kaizad Gustad's box office bomb Boom (2003). She tasted success in 2007 with Vipul Shah's Namastey London and followed with such films as Anees Bazmee's Welcome (2007), Abbas-Mustan's Race (2008) and Kabir Khan's New York (2009).[7] She has since appeared in critically and commercially successful films like Prakash Jha's political thriller Rajneeti (2010) and Zoya Akhtar's dramedy Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011)
Shilpa Shetty (born 8 June 1975) is an Indian film actress and model. Since making her debut in the film Baazigar (1993), she has appeared in nearly 40 Bollywood, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films, her first leading role being in the 1994 film Aag. Although she has been through years of decline during her career, Shetty has been willing to reinvent herself quite often. Her performances in Dhadkan (2000) and Rishtey (2002) were appreciated, while her portrayal of an AIDS patient in Phir Milenge (2004) won her many accolades. Her younger sister Shamita Shetty is also a Bollywood film actress.
After taking part in the British Celebrity Big Brother TV show in 2007, Shetty was crowned the winner with 63% of the final vote,[3] after an international racism controversy involving her and fellow contestants Jade Goody, Jo O'Meara and Danielle Lloyd. This was followed by a re-establishment of her status in the film industry in 2007 when she appeared in two successive movies, Life in a... Metro and Apne, with her performance in the former drawing positive reviews
Asin Thottumkal (born 26 October 1985[1]), known mononymously as Asin, is an Indian film actress, model and stage performer who mainly acts primarily in Hindi and Tamil films. She also acted in some Telugu and Malayalam films. Making her acting debut in Sathyan Anthikkad's Malayalam film Narendra Makan Jayakanthan Vaka (2001), Asin had her first commercial success with the Telugu film Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi in 2003, and won a Filmfare Best Telugu Actress Award for the film. Its remake M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi (2004) was her debut in Tamil and a huge success. She received her second South Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her critically acclaimed performance in her second Blockbuster Tamil film, Ghajini (2005). She played the lead female roles in blockbusters such as the romantic thriller Ghajini (2005), the action comedy Sivakaasi(2005), the dramatic thriller Varalaru (2006), the action thriler Pokkiri (2007),the big budget production Dasavathaaram (2008) and the romantic comedy Kaavalan (2011). She has established her as leading actress in Tamil cinema.[2][3][4]
In late 2008, Asin made her début in Bollywood, with Ghajini, the remake of its Tamil namesake, subsequently winning the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award. She also starred in another blockbuster movie Ready opposite Salman Khan

Early Work (2001–2004)

Asin Thottumkal debuted in a supporting role in Malayalam film Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka in 2001, at the age of 15. After taking a year out to pursue her education, Asin returned with her breakthrough film as an actress, Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi opposite Ravi Teja, portraying a Tamil girl in her first Telugu language film, which subsequently fetched her the Telugu Filmfare Award for Best Actress.[11] In the same year she won the Santosham Best Actress Award for her performance alongside Akkineni Nagarjuna in her second Telugu film, Shivamani.[11] Her following two Telugu films, Lakshmi Narasimha and Gharshana, both portrayed Asin as the love interest for police officers.
Asin's first Tamil language film was M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi, in which she co-starred with Jayam Ravi. Asin reprised her role from her film Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi for the remake, which saw her portraying a Malayali girl instead of the Tamil girl in the original. The movie subsequently went on to become one of the biggest hits in Tamil cinema during 2004, introducing Asin to Tamil film industry.[12] After a brief return to Telugu films, to do Chakram, she appeared in Ullam Ketkumae.[13] The film, initially launched in 2002, is a college love story, directed by Jeeva, which was long-delayed but eventually became a successful venture at the box-office, creating wider opportunities for her and the rest of the cast

Priyanka Chopra (pronounced [prɪˈjəŋkaː ˈtʃoːpɽaː]; born 18 July 1982)[1] is an Indian actress, singer-songwriter and former Miss World. Before starting her acting career, she worked as a model and gained fame after winning the Miss World title in 2000.[2] She is often referred to by the nickname "Piggy Chops", which was given to her by co-stars on the set of the film Bluffmaster![3] During her career, Chopra has received four Filmfare Awards, among seven nominations and one National Film Award for Best Actress.
Chopra made her acting debut with the 2002 Tamil film Thamizhan. The following year, she made her Bollywood film debut with The Hero: Love Story of a Spy and followed it with the hit Andaaz, for which she won a Filmfare Best Female Debut Award. In 2004, she became the second woman to win the Filmfare Best Villain Award, which she received for her critically acclaimed performance in Aitraaz. She subsequently appeared in successful films like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Krrish (2006) and Don: The Chase Begins Again (2006).[4]
2008 marked the beginning of a new phase in Chopra's career. Her portrayal of a troubled model in Fashion earned her a National Film Award for Best Actress, as well as a Filmfare Award for Best Actress. She received further critical acclaim for roles in films like Kaminey (2009), What's Your Raashee? (2009) and 7 Khoon Maaf (2011), for which she won a Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress and followed it with commercially successful films such as Don 2 (2011) and Agneepath (2012) .[5][6] Having done so, Chopra established herself as one of the leading contemporary actresses in Bollywood.[7][8]
In addition to movie acting, Chopra is a trained western classical singer. She signed a worldwide recording agreement with Universal Music and Desi Hits to record and release her first music album. The first single is expected to release in June 2012

 


Genelia D'Souza is an Indian actress, model, and host. She has appeared in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam language films. After gaining wide attention in a Parker Pen commercial with Amitabh Bachchan, D'Souza began her acting career with Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003. She was recognized for her role in Boys the same year, and later established herself in Telugu cinema by acting in several Telugu films during 2003–2005.
D'Souza received her first Filmfare Award in 2006 for her performance in the Telugu romantic film, Bommarillu, which earned her critical acclaim. In 2008, she gave critically acclaimed performances in Santosh Subramaniam, a Tamil remake of Bommarillu, and the Bollywood movie Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na. Having acted in several commercially successful movies in Telugu and Tamil, D'Souza has established herself as one of the leading actresses of the South Indian film industry.[1][2] In addition to movie acting, D'Souza has hosted the television show Big Switch, and is the brand ambassador of Fanta, Virgin Mobile India, Fastrack, LG Mobiles, Garnier Light, Margo, and Perk in India.[3

Sophie Choudry (born Sophia Choudhry, 8 February 1981)[1] is an Indian film actress, singer, former MTV India VJ and occasional model and anchor.

Lara Dutta Bhupathi (Hindi: लारा दत्ता भूपति; born 16 April 1978) is an Indian Bollywood actress and former Miss Universe (2000).[1]
She made her Hindi debut in 2003 with the film Andaaz which was a box office success and won her a Filmfare Best Female Debut Award. Her box office hit successes include a series of comedies Masti (2004), No Entry (2005), Bhagam Bhag (2006), Partner (2007) and Housefull (2010). Her recent film Don 2 is a Blockbuster (2011).

Raima Sen (Bengali: ; born Raima Dev Varma on 11 November 1979) is an Indian film actress.

Career

Sen made her debut in the film Godmother, which was a critically acclaimed success, but her minor role may have been overlooked in favour of the protagonist, played by Shabana Azmi. She then starred in the film Daman playing Raveena Tandon's daughter, where her small performance was appreciated.
Her breakthrough role came when she starred in the Rituparno Ghosh's film Chokher Bali. After a few more average movies she had a critically acclaimed hit in 2005 with Parineeta, where she played the playmate of the film's heroine, essayed by the debutante Vidya Balan. Since then she has had two more hits with the action thriller Dus and the Bengali film Antar Mahal (where she had a very small role). In 2006, she appeared in the film The Bong Connection (co-starring Shayan Munshi). In 2007, she worked in the thriller Manorama Six Feet Under with Abhay Deol.
She has signed her first Tamil film and she is expected to do more South Indian films. She has yet, however, to play the leading role in any hit movie.

Rani Mukerji (born Rani Mukherjee on 21 March 1978)[1] is an Indian film actress who works in Hindi movies. Born to the Mukherjee-Samarth family, Mukerji never harbored any ambitions to become an actress, but eventually joined films on the insistence of her parents. She made her acting debut with Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat (1997), and subsequently had her first, and still biggest commercial success with Karan Johar's romance Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), which won her a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. She later starred in several films that fared below expectations, but in 2002 she tasted success with the critically acclaimed drama Saathiya for which she received numerous awards and nominations, including her first Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress.[2]
In 2004, her performances in the hit romantic comedy Hum Tum and the critically acclaimed Yuva earned her the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress awards, respectively at the 50th Filmfare Awards, making her the first actress to win two major awards in the same year. She later received unanimous praise for her portrayal of a blind, deaf and mute woman in Black (2005), for which she garnered numerous awards, including two more Filmfare Awards: Best Actress and Actress - Critics.[3] She went on to play leading roles in the comedy Bunty Aur Babli (2005) and the adult drama Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006), both of which emerged as major commercial successes in India as well as overseas.[4] Mukerji thus established herself as a leading actress of Hindi cinema.[5] She then featured in a series of commercially unsuccessful films, mostly under the Yash Raj Films banner, before re-inventing herself with Raj Kumar Gupta's semi-biographic thriller No One Killed Jessica (2011).[6] During the course of her career, she has received seven Filmfare Awards, among thirteen nominations.[7]
In addition to acting in films, Mukerji has featured as a talent judge for Sony Entertainment Television's reality show Dance Premier League.[8] Despite constant speculation, she remains guarded about her personal life and has consequently been termed a recluse by certain sections of the media. Mukerji currently lives in Juhu with her parents.
